New tip emerges in Keshaun Williams case as reward increases to $27,500

Cleveland police and the U.S. Marshals Service have provided a new update on the case of missing Cleveland teenager Keshaun Williams, who was last seen on June 17, 2023. Investigators believe he was attending a house party on Gertrude Avenue before he disappeared, and an Amber Alert remains active in his case.

At a recent news conference, Williams’ grandmother, Mary Williams, made a heartfelt plea for anyone with information to come forward. “Keshaun has been gone. It’s been very painful. I miss that big, wet kiss he gives me every time I drop him off at home. I miss that. I miss him,” she said. She added that she believes there are people who know what happened to Keshaun and urged them to provide the information.

The U.S. Marshals Service revealed they received a new tip suggesting Keshaun was last seen walking away from the party and getting into a dark-colored SUV with a group of male juveniles. Deputy U.S. Marshal Vincent Piccoli stated, “We have reason to believe this tip is accurate,” although he did not disclose whether any of the other juveniles in the vehicle have been identified.

Investigators have been reviewing surveillance footage from the area to get a clearer description of the vehicle, but so far, nothing definitive has emerged. This new lead represents a shift from the earlier focus on a black Jeep, which authorities had initially linked to the case but later dismissed.

The authorities believe Keshaun may still be in the Cleveland area and are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help bring him home safely. Mary Williams remains hopeful, saying, “I know for sure that somebody is going to have a heart and they are going to come, they’re going to call and say what needs to be said in order to close this thing, put it to rest.”

In addition to the new tip, the reward for information leading to Keshaun’s whereabouts has been increased to $27,500, thanks to contributions from Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County, the U.S. Marshals Service, and anonymous donors. Authorities remain committed to finding answers for the family, with Cleveland Police Sgt. Freddy Diaz affirming, “We continue to investigate this case and will not stop until we get some answers for the family.”
