Cleveland Shooting Trial: Man Accused of Killing at Gas Station Waits for Verdict
The judge overseeing the bench trial of 33-year-old Bobby Buchanan Jr. is currently deliberating on the case related to a deadly shooting at a Cleveland gas station. The trial, which began on September 4, is presided over by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge John Sutula. The last witness took the stand on September 25, though the trial was not held every day.
Buchanan faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, having weapons while under disability, failure to comply with a police officer’s orders, and attempted murder.
Cleveland police reported that Buchanan shot and killed 50-year-old Anthony Wynn, a father from Euclid, at the Shell Gas Station located at the corner of St. Clair Avenue and East 100th Street around 5:30 p.m. on December 3, 2022. According to authorities, Wynn was shot in the abdomen and thigh and succumbed to his injuries at University Hospitals.
At the time of the incident, Wynn was at one gas pump while Buchanan was at another. Following the shooting, Buchanan fled the scene but was apprehended by Cleveland police the next day, December 4, 2022.
Buchanan is currently being held on a $1 million bond at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.
