Downtown Cleveland Prepares for a Busy Friday Night with Concerts and Guardians Game
Friday night in downtown Cleveland is set to be bustling as two major concerts and a Cleveland Guardians home game are expected to draw up to 100,000 people. For local bars and restaurants, this surge of visitors is a much-anticipated boost.
“That’s just an enormous amount of volume, and, you know, a rising tide lifts all boats. So it’s good for everybody that’s down here,” said Alex Diiorio, COO of the Salerno Group, which owns restaurants Lago and Sora and licenses Banditos inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
With two of the group’s restaurants located near Huntington Bank Field, Diiorio explained to FOX 8 News that they are always prepared for busy event nights like this one.
“These are the nights we live for in this business. Busy nights are high-energy for us. They keep our team motivated and excited, which I believe helps us deliver better service to our guests,” Diiorio said.
Officials are encouraging anyone heading downtown on Friday to arrive early and stay late to find parking easily and enjoy the many local businesses before or after the event they’re attending.
