Two Victims Hospitalized After West Side Shooting; Fairview Hospital Under Lockdown

Cleveland police are investigating an overnight shooting that left a man and a woman hospitalized and prompted a lockdown at Cleveland Clinic Fairview’s Emergency Room.

The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Riverside Park CMHA Complex, located on West 174th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered numerous evidence markers and found more than 15 shell casings scattered across the scene.

According to police reports, the victims—an 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old female—had already been transported to the hospital in private vehicles by the time authorities arrived. Minutes later, a black Mercedes Benz with multiple bullet holes, including a shattered back windshield, appeared outside the emergency department.

Cleveland police detained a third individual who was attempting to flee from the vehicle that brought the victims to the hospital. Upon investigation, officers discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for aggravated robbery.

As police processed the vehicle for evidence, they cordoned off the area outside the hospital and temporarily closed the entrance to the Emergency Department. The lockdown, which began just before 5 a.m., was lifted around 5:30 a.m.

The condition of the two victims remains unknown at this time. The 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been taken to county jail, where he awaits charges.
