Police Investigate Gunfight in South Euclid: Community Left on Edge

A frightening shootout between two vehicles in a South Euclid neighborhood was captured on video Tuesday night.

According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Adrian and Piermont Roads around 10:20 PM. Upon arrival, they discovered nearly 30 shell casings scattered across the street.

Surveillance footage from a nearby residence shows several individuals exiting one vehicle and firing multiple shots at another car as it drove past.

Neighbors expressed their shock at the incident occurring in what is usually a quiet area. One woman, who requested anonymity, commented, “I’m very surprised. This is close to where I live. People are out here with their babies and strollers, and people are always walking their dogs. That’s scary.”

Lauren Olevnik, a traveling nurse visiting the area, recounted her experience: “I was peeking out of my window, and my friend said I should probably get away from the window. But I wanted to see what was going on and if the people were still here.”

Witnesses reported seeing two light-colored vehicles appearing to chase and shoot at each other. While there was damage to homes in the vicinity, thankfully, no injuries were reported.

A local resident living a few blocks away shared, “We heard the shots right away, and neighbors started calling. That’s just how South Euclid is. We checked in on each other because we are a really tight-knit community, and things like this really don’t happen here. I just hope they find the people who did this. I would be shocked to find out they lived here.”

The investigation is ongoing, with officers actively working to gather more information and identify any suspects involved. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Lieutenant Parisi at 216-691-4253 or via email at bparisi@sepolice.us.
