Crash Injures Teens and 3-Year-Old: Investigation Underway
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a crash that sent two teenagers and a three-year-old to the hospital, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
In a press release, troopers reported that at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 2014 Hyundai Veloster was traveling westbound on Maine Street in the Village of Mifflin when it veered off the road and struck a tree.
The driver, a 17-year-old male, had an 18-year-old female passenger and her three-year-old daughter with him. The female passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver and the toddler both suffered minor injuries.
Troopers noted that all three individuals were wearing their seat belts or safety equipment at the time of the crash. However, speed and alcohol are being investigated as contributing factors to the incident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
