According to The Sun, A popular women’s clothing store, Talbots, is set to close its doors at The Summit shopping center in Birmingham, Alabama, marking the end of an era after 27 years in the same location. The store, which opened in 1997, will close its doors at the end of October.

A sign displayed in the store confirmed the upcoming closure, stating, “This location is closing, but this isn’t goodbye.” The notice encourages loyal customers to visit another Talbots location in Montgomery and shop online.
News of the closure was first shared on the Friends of HWY 280 Facebook page, where many long-time customers expressed their disappointment.
One commenter wrote:
“So terribly disappointed. This store served a huge community for such a long time… Sad day for women of the community.” Another lamented, “I’m heartbroken. That location is a beautiful store. I often visit.”
Speculation About Lululemon’s Arrival
Several customers voiced their frustration, speculating that the closure may be linked to the upcoming arrival of a Lululemon store at The Summit. One post expressed dissatisfaction with the shopping center, stating:

Despite the closure, dedicated fans can still shop at the Montgomery location or online.
