Case Background

On May 5, 2022, Euclid police responded to a residence in the 1400 block of East 260th Street following reports of an unresponsive child. Musiah was pronounced dead at the emergency room of University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center.

Following the incident, three other young children were removed from the home by Cuyahoga County’s Department of Child and Family Services, with one requiring hospitalization.

An autopsy revealed that Musiah had suffered blunt force trauma to his head, neck, trunk, and extremities, resulting in significant brain, liver, skeletal, and soft tissue injuries.

Authorities reported that both Hall and Anderson lived in the household. In November 2021, Musiah had been placed in the legal custody of Anderson, his paternal aunt, after a petition by his paternal grandmother for companionship and visitation was set for trial on June 7, 2022.

The couple was apprehended on May 11, 2022, by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Cleveland, just as the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled Musiah’s death a homicide.

On May 18, 2022, a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Hall and Anderson on multiple charges, including one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and six counts of endangering children.
