Good News for SSI Recipients: November Payments Include Social Security Boost
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program will issue its next payment on November 1, a standard payday for all SSI recipients, who receive their benefits on the same day each month. Unlike SSI, Social Security retirement benefits are distributed on four different paydays throughout the month, with some recipients receiving payments on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday. However, there are occasional changes, and checks and direct deposits may be sent in advance.
Important Change for Some SSI Recipients
While the SSI payment will remain scheduled for November 1, the Social Security payment due on November 3 will be sent earlier. This means that recipients who receive both Supplemental Security Income and Social Security benefits will not have to wait until November 3 for their funds.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has arranged for the November 3 payment to be issued on November 1 for individuals who:
- Receive both SSI and Social Security or SSDI benefits simultaneously.
- Began receiving benefits before May 1997.
This advancement in payment will be advantageous for those eligible, allowing them to access their funds sooner.
