Veterans Day 2024 Events in Northeast Ohio: Parades, Ceremonies, and More
Veterans Day 2024, observed on Monday, November 11, will honor and celebrate veterans and active military members across the nation. In Northeast Ohio, various cities are organizing parades, ceremonies, and special events to pay tribute to those who have served. Here’s a list of local events to participate in:
Akron
The Akron Municipal Court and Glendale Cemetery will co-host a tribute on Friday, November 8, at 11:30 a.m. This ceremony honors Civil War Veteran Lewis P. Buckley and marks the fifth year the court has organized a November event for a local veteran. It will be held in the Civil War Memorial Chapel, followed by a walking tour of the cemetery.
Beachwood
Join the Cuyahoga County Public Library for a Veterans Day concert on November 11 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Beachwood Branch. The concert will feature patriotic music performed by The High Notes.
Brunswick
American Legion Post 234 and VFW Post 9520 will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at Brunswick City Hall.
Canton
The annual Veterans Day Event & Expo will take place at the Pro Football Hall of Fame from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. U.S. service members, National Guard members, and veterans will receive free admission, along with a guest.
Chagrin Falls
The Chagrin Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct a Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11 at 11 a.m. at Triangle Park and the Chagrin Falls Fire Department.
Cleveland
Cleveland’s Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Monument on November 11 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Green
The Green Veterans Day Ceremony is set for November 11 at Veterans Memorial Park, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Mansfield
A Veterans Day Parade will kick off on November 11 at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start on Park Avenue West and continue east to the Gazebo in Central Park, followed by a Veterans Day program at the Gazebo.
Mentor
The Mentor Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on November 11 at 11:11 a.m. at the Mentor Municipal Cemetery memorial promenade.
North Canton
Join the North Canton Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at Bitzer Park.
Oberlin
A Veterans Day Appreciation Ceremony will occur at 4 p.m. on November 11 inside the Oberlin Elementary School gymnasium. The event will feature keynote speakers, musical selections by the student band and choir, and light refreshments served afterward.
Wadsworth
Wadsworth will hold its Veterans Day parade on November 11, starting at 10:50 a.m.
