Two Arrested Following Multi-Interstate Police Chase in Ohio
A police pursuit of a reportedly stolen car that began in Medina County ended with the arrest of two young suspects in Cleveland on Thursday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The chase commenced just before 1 p.m. when troopers spotted a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette that had been reported stolen from Greenville, near Dayton, the night before. The vehicle was initially seen traveling northbound on Interstate 71 in Montville Township.
Troopers followed the Corvette as it transitioned onto Interstate 271, then onto Interstate 480, and finally onto State Route 176 before exiting the highway onto Lee Road in Cleveland.
The pursuit concluded around 1:30 p.m. on East 146th Street near Kinsman Road, when OnStar remotely disabled the vehicle.
Both suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended. At the scene, troopers recovered a semi-automatic gun that had also been reported stolen.
One suspect was transported to a Cleveland children’s hospital as a precaution, while the other, who had been reported missing by Dayton Police, will be returned to Dayton. Charges against both suspects are pending as the investigation continues.
