SNAP payments of up to $1,756 in California with COLA increase, check when your CalFresh money will be in your EBT card
To access SNAP or CalFresh benefits in California, individuals must first apply in the state where they reside. Approval from the Food Stamps office is essential to receive benefits. Eligibility primarily hinges on meeting resource and income limits, although other conditions may also apply. For eligible beneficiaries, California will distribute funds from October 1 through October 10.
California’s CalFresh Payment Schedule

- Case number ending in 8: Payment on October 8
- Case number ending in 9: Payment on October 9
- Case number ending in 0: Payment on October 10
CalFresh Payment Amounts for SNAP Recipients
The maximum SNAP benefits in California align with those in the 48 contiguous states. Starting October 1, there will be updated SNAP amounts due to a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), but recipients should not expect a significant change in payment amounts compared to September.
Additionally, it’s important to note that Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) aged 53-54 will need to comply with specific work requirements and may face a time limit for receiving CalFresh benefits.
Here are the new maximum SNAP amounts reflecting the COLA increase:
- 1 person: $292
- 2 people: $536
- 3 people: $768
- 4 people: $975
- 5 people: $1,158
- 6 people: $1,390
- 7 people: $1,536
- 8 people: $1,756
For those eligible, understanding these payment structures and requirements is crucial for effectively managing their benefits.
