Ohio Amber Alert: 7-Year-Old Oaklynn Alexander Found Safe After Abduction
Ohio authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that followed a statewide Amber Alert and a police chase in Medina. The alert, issued for a 7-year-old girl abducted in Southeast Ohio on Monday, November 11, has been canceled after the child was found safe.
The girl, Oaklynn Alexander, was reportedly abducted in Empire, Jefferson County, after an altercation at a family member’s home. The suspect, 43-year-old Charles Alexander, took the child despite not having custody, prompting law enforcement to issue the Amber Alert out of concern for Oaklynn’s safety.
Later that evening, state troopers and Medina police pursued the suspect’s stolen vehicle in Medina. The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) to handle an officer-involved shooting near 5050 Eastpointe Drive. No officers were injured in the incident.
BCI’s Special Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene, though further details were not available by Monday night. Initially, the suspect’s vehicle, a gray 2018 Ford F-150, was reported with significant rear-end damage, but authorities later discovered it abandoned. The search then shifted to a stolen 26-foot U-Haul truck.
The Amber Alert was issued at 6:55 p.m. on Monday and was canceled at 9:29 p.m. after Oaklynn was safely located.
