November and December SSI Payments: Up to $1,415 Ahead of COLA Increase
According to Vibes.okdiario, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients are set to receive their next payment from the Federal Government on November 1, 2024. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed this schedule. Payments are typically issued on the first day of the month, but if this falls on a weekend or holiday, they are delivered on the preceding business day. This will occur soon, affecting recipients.
December Payments Scheduled Ahead of Time
In addition to the November payment, SSI recipients will also receive a check for December. Since December 1, 2024, falls on a Sunday, the SSA has scheduled the December payment for November 29, 2024. Thus, beneficiaries will have two separate paydays this month, one for November and the other for December, and all recipients may qualify for both payments.
Eligibility Requirements for SSI
To qualify for Supplemental Security Income, individuals must meet certain criteria:
- Have a low income
- Have little or no resources
- Be a U.S. citizen or national (certain non-citizens may also qualify)
- Be blind, disabled, or at least 65 years old

January Payment Adjustments Due to Holidays
Looking ahead, the SSI payment for January 2025 will not be sent on January 1, as banks and SSA offices will be closed for the federal holiday. Instead, the payment will be delivered on December 31, 2024.
Impact of the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)
Importantly, SSI recipients will receive the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) increase for 2025 within the year 2024. This adjustment is expected to raise the maximum SSI payment for individuals by approximately $23, totaling $276 for the year. For eligible married couples, the monthly payment could reach up to $1,450 on December 31, 2024, reflecting an increase of $35 per month, amounting to an additional $420 over the year. The COLA adjustment will significantly benefit low-income Americans by providing them with greater financial support.
