North Ridgeville Man Arrested for OVI While Driving Wrecked Vehicle

OVI: Center Ridge Road

On October 19, police stopped a driver whose vehicle was dragging equipment and showed signs of heavy front-end damage, including a deployed airbag. The driver was arrested and taken to Lorain County Jail, facing charges of operating under the influence, driving an unsafe vehicle, and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Crash: Lorain Road

Officers responded to a gas station on October 17 following a crash report. The driver at fault had left the scene before police arrived but was later identified and arrested.

Theft: No Address

On October 11, police received reports of several open mailboxes. Surveillance footage captured two juveniles tampering with the mailboxes and removing items. The individuals have since been identified and referred to juvenile court.

Theft: Sugar Ridge Road

A utility trailer was reported stolen from Sugar Ridge Storage on October 19.

Trespassing: Lorain Road

Police were dispatched to Sheetz on October 19 for a report of unwanted individuals on the premises. While the individuals were removed, one man returned approximately 30 minutes later and was arrested for criminal trespassing.

Drunk Driving: Otten Road

On October 20, police stopped a driver for a traffic violation. Upon investigation, the driver was found to be under the influence and subsequently arrested on charges of drunk driving, open container violation, and additional traffic infractions.

Property Damage: Lorain Road

On October 20, Fairview Park police pursued a vehicle through the city. During the chase, stop sticks were deployed, but they were damaged when the suspect vehicle ran over them.

Theft: Center Ridge Road

Police responded to a theft report at Giant Eagle on October 21. Two suspects were located and arrested, facing charges of theft, criminal trespass, complicity, and possession of cocaine.

OVI: Avon Belden Road

On October 21, a caller reported a driver operating recklessly. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence and a traffic violation.
