Chubb, who is currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, was seen on the field at EverBank Stadium interacting with fans. The Browns’ Instagram account shared photos of Chubb, earning significant attention with the post titled “Batman in the building.”
The post quickly became a fan favorite, amassing 40,000 likes and numerous comments. Fans expressed their enthusiasm for Chubb’s return, with many excited about his potential impact once he is back on the field. Some fans also commented on the visible scars from Chubb’s recent surgeries, expressing hope for his future health.
Chubb Currently on PUP List
Nick Chubb started the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to ACL and MCL repairs from separate surgeries. He won’t be eligible to return until at least October 6 for the game against the Washington Commanders, though there’s a possibility he may be out longer. Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot from Cleveland.com suggested that Chubb could potentially return by Week 8 against the Ravens or Week 9 against the Chargers, or possibly after the bye week in Week 10.
Chubb has been a key player for the Browns, accumulating 6,511 rushing yards and 48 touchdowns in 77 career games. His impressive average of 84.6 yards per game and 5.3 yards per carry highlights his significance to the team.
D’Onta Foreman and Jerome Ford Handling the Load
In Chubb’s absence, the Browns have relied on running backs Jerome Ford and D’Onta Foreman to manage the backfield. Foreman, who had not seen any carries in the opener, led the team with 14 carries for 42 yards in the win over the Jaguars. Ford contributed with 7 carries for 64 yards, including a notable 36-yard run.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski acknowledged improvements in the run game but emphasized the need for cleaner execution. Additionally, running back Pierre Strong Jr. suffered a hamstring injury during the game and is considered week-to-week.
The Browns continue to adjust their game plan as they await Chubb’s return, striving to maintain a strong offensive presence in his absence.
