“New Flock Cameras Aid in Arrest of Shooting Suspect in Ravenna”
RAVENNA, Ohio (WOIO) — Ravenna Police have successfully apprehended a shooting suspect thanks to recently installed Flock Cameras in Twinsburg.
On August 12, officers responded to a 911 hang-up call on Madison Street. Residents in the area reported hearing loud popping sounds, which they believed to be gunfire or fireworks. Upon investigation, officers discovered evidence indicating that shots had indeed been fired.
The scene included several shell casings and two vehicles that had been struck by bullets while a home was occupied. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Fast forward to Tuesday, Ravenna Police, in collaboration with the Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Service, arrested 19-year-old William Hale-Jones in Twinsburg. His vehicle was captured by Flock Cameras on Oxford Street, leading to his arrest. Hale-Jones was transported back to Ravenna Police Department and subsequently taken to the Portage County Jail.
