Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $740 Million for Friday’s Drawing
According to Source, The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to an estimated $740 million for Friday night’s drawing, making it the seventh-largest prize in the game’s history.
The prize continues to grow after no one matched the winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing. The numbers drawn were 12, 41, 43, 52, 55, and the Mega Ball 9.
Although the jackpot went unclaimed, two lucky tickets from Kansas and Michigan matched five numbers, each winning $1 million.
The last Mega Millions jackpot was won on June 4 in Illinois, where the winner took home $552 million.
With odds of winning the jackpot standing at 1 in 302,575,350, Mega Millions holds the record for awarding six jackpots worth over $1 billion, with winners hailing from states like New Jersey, Florida, South Carolina, Maine, Illinois, and Michigan.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Eastern in Atlanta.
