Marysville Woman Missing After Hiking Trip in Alabama, Search Underway
A Marysville woman, Vendula (Wendy) Rose, has been reported missing after failing to return home from a hiking trip in Alabama. Rose, who was last seen on September 24, was expected to return home by October 2, according to the Marysville Police Division.
On Monday, Rose’s vehicle, a silver Honda Accord with the license plate CHKSFLY, was discovered parked at the Pinhoti Trail trailhead in an Alabama State park by the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities, including the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, have launched an extensive search operation. Helicopters, drones, and foot patrols have been deployed to cover remote and hard-to-reach areas, with deputies having searched 36 miles of trails on foot.
