Marshalls Shuts All 1,200 Locations for 24 Hours: What Shoppers Need to Know
According to The Sun , Retail enthusiasts will need to mark their calendars for a significant retail closure this Thanksgiving. All 1,200 Marshalls locations across the United States will be shutting their doors for a 24-hour period in observance of the national holiday, giving employees a well-deserved day off to spend with their families.
Thanksgiving Day, falling on November 28 this year, will see a number of retailers, including Marshalls and its sister store TJ Maxx, closing for the holiday. While you won’t be able to shop for your favorite discounted items that day, there’s good news for Black Friday shoppers. Both Marshalls and TJ Maxx will reopen at 7 AM on Black Friday, ready for the busy shopping day. However, don’t expect any special Black Friday discounts—these stores offer year-round discounted prices on apparel, homeware, jewelry, and beauty products, typically 20% to 60% less than other department stores. The prices will stay the same for Black Friday.
Other major retailers also closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day include Best Buy, Macy’s, Walmart, Target, JCPenney, Home Depot, and Bath & Body Works, giving employees the day off to enjoy time with their families.
While many stores are closing, a few will remain open on Thanksgiving, including CVS, Rite Aid, and Big Lots, which will be open from 7 AM to 9 PM. Some other stores like Bass Pro and Old Navy will also keep their doors open for limited hours—Bass Pro from 9 AM to 6 PM and Old Navy from 3 PM. Shoppers should also check with local stores for their specific Thanksgiving hours.
If you plan to do any last-minute grocery shopping, make sure to plan ahead, as many grocery stores like Publix and BJ’s Wholesale Club will also close for the entire day.
So, while Thanksgiving will bring a brief retail pause, the big shopping weekend kicks off soon after, with stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx welcoming eager shoppers bright and early on Black Friday.
