Maple Heights Library Shooting: Two Women Injured After Argument Turns Violent

The Maple Heights Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the parking lot of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. The incident unfolded following an argument between two women.

According to police, they received multiple calls around 3:20 p.m. reporting a dispute between the women. Maple Heights Police Chief Todd Hansen informed 3News that the argument escalated when one of the women brandished a gun.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that both a 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman had sustained gunshot wounds. The 20-year-old was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, while the 22-year-old was initially taken to Cleveland Clinic – Marymount Hospital before being transferred to MetroHealth.

The identities of the women have not been released, and their current conditions remain unknown, as stated in the police release. Officers recovered a firearm at the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation by the Maple Heights Detective Bureau.
