LAST CHANCE: Americans Eligible for One-Time Payment from $9.2M Skincare Settlement – No Receipt Needed

Beauty enthusiasts might be in line for a portion of a substantial settlement after Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare agreed to a $9.2 million payout. The settlement addresses allegations that the company misled consumers about the collagen content in its products.

Settlement Details

The class action lawsuit, filed in New York in March 2023, claimed that Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare falsely advertised its “C+Collagen” product line. The lawsuit alleges that since around 2016, the company marketed products as containing collagen—a protein known for its benefits in boosting elasticity and moisture—while they actually contained only “vegetable amino acids,” not collagen.

Despite the settlement, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare has not admitted to any wrongdoing. The settlement aims to resolve the litigation and end further legal disputes.

Eligibility for Compensation

Customers who purchased any products from the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare C+Collagen range between March 10, 2016, and June 28, 2024, may be eligible for compensation.

  • Without Receipt: Those without a receipt can claim up to $100 for a maximum of two products.
  • With Receipt: Shoppers who have proof of purchase can claim up to $500 for up to ten C+Collagen products. Each product purchased between the specified dates can earn $50.

Key Dates

  • Claim Submission Deadline: Claims must be submitted by September 27, 2024.
  • Exclusion Deadline: Class members must decide whether to exclude themselves from the settlement by this date. Excluding oneself preserves the right to pursue future legal action against the brand.
  • Objections Deadline: Any objections to the settlement must also be submitted by September 27, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for October 31, 2024. To file a claim or to review further details, visit the settlement website.
