Important Update: SNAP Benefits Delayed Until October 10 in Two States
The USDA has announced the payment schedule for SNAP recipients in the U.S. for October 2024. While some Food Stamp beneficiaries began receiving funds on their EBT cards as early as October 1, others will need to wait a bit longer.
SNAP Payments in South Dakota
In South Dakota, eligible SNAP recipients can expect their payments to be deposited on October 10. Unlike many states, South Dakota has a single payment date for all qualified recipients, making it straightforward for residents to anticipate when funds will be available.
SNAP Payments in Maine
Maine will also initiate SNAP payments on October 10 but has organized its disbursement over five days. The schedule for these payments is determined by the last digit of recipients’ birth dates:
- October 10: Birth dates ending in 0 or 9
- October 11: Birth dates ending in 1 or 8
- October 12: Birth dates ending in 2 or 3
- October 13: Birth dates ending in 4 or 7
- October 14: Birth dates ending in 5 or 6
