BIG UPDATE: Last SNAP benefit payments in September with Food Stamps worth up to $1,751
If you receive SNAP benefits in the United States and have not yet received your monthly payment, it’s essential to check the upcoming paydays. Food Stamp payments will be issued through September 28, 2024.
The amount of your SNAP benefits depends on several factors, including your earnings, household size, and other eligibility criteria. In the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia, maximum monthly benefits can reach up to $1,751 for households with eight members.
Last SNAP Payments for September
According to the USDA’s payment schedule, 17 states will be sending out their final Food Stamp payments for September. Currently, 33 states have already completed their distributions. Some states, such as New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, and Washington, will finish their payments by September 20, while Texas and Florida will continue issuing benefits until September 28.

SNAP Benefit Amounts Before the 2025 COLA Increase
For families qualifying for the maximum SNAP amount, the following benefits are available until September 30, 2024:
- 1 Person: Up to $292
- 2 People: Up to $536
- 3 People: Up to $768
- 4 People: Up to $975
- 5 People: Up to $1,158
- 6 People: Up to $1,390
- 7 People: Up to $1,536
- 8 People: Up to $1,756
- Each Additional Member: $220
If you’re a single individual, you could receive approximately $291, while a family of three could get up to $766. Payments are loaded onto EBT cards, which can be used at eligible farmer markets, grocery stores, and retailers. Make sure to verify if your local grocery store accepts EBT cards and check for SNAP-eligible items, as there are restrictions on what can be purchased.
Following the 2025 COLA increase, SNAP benefits will be adjusted and will take effect on October 1, 2024.
