BIG UPDATE: Here are the retirees and SSDI recipients who will get $3,822 within 24 hours (or in 8 days)
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is set to deliver new payments for retirees and SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) recipients on September 18, 2024. On the same day, payments for those who qualify for SSDI will also be issued.
Payment Details and Schedule
On September 18, 2024, hundreds of retirees and SSDI recipients will receive their payments. The SSA ensures that all recipients meet the necessary requirements for these payments. Here’s what you need to know to determine if you qualify for the upcoming payments:
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be receiving Social Security (Disability Insurance or retirement) benefits after April 30, 1997.
- You should not be receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- Your payment date depends on your birthday:
- If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, your payment will be on September 18.
- If your birthday falls between the 21st and 31st of the month, your payment will be on September 25.
Maximum Payment Amount
For some high earners, the maximum Social Security payment is up to $3,822. This amount is available to those who have worked and earned the taxable maximum amount for 35 years and filed for benefits at Full Retirement Age in 2024.
Eligibility for $3,822 Payment:
-
- The $3,822 payment is reserved for individuals who earned the taxable maximum amount for 35 years.
- In 2024, the taxable maximum is $168,600, which can be challenging to achieve as it increases with the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).
- Only a few Americans will receive this maximum payment in retirement or SSDI.
Payment Consistency
The SSDI and retirement benefit amounts will remain unchanged through December 2024. A new COLA increase will take effect starting January 2025, impacting all Social Security recipients in the United States.
