Avon Lake High School: Two Students Taken Into Custody for Violent Threats
Avon Lake police apprehended two high school students on Thursday in connection with threats made on social media. The school district informed families in a letter that federal authorities had contacted them early Thursday morning regarding “specific and credible threats of violence.”
According to the district, the students are accused of posting these threats online. School officials acted swiftly, identifying the students and taking them into custody.
In the process, their lockers, cars, and personal items were searched, but no items related to the threats were found. The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to ensure the safety of the school community.
“The safety and security of the students, staff, and buildings in the Avon Lake City Schools is our top priority.
