ACT FAST: Sephora shoppers can claim $500 payment from $9.2 million skincare settlement after ‘misleading customers’ on effects
SEPHORA customers who purchased products from Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare may be eligible for cash payments of up to $500 as part of a settlement resolving claims of misleading labeling.
Settlement Overview
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, a luxury brand founded by dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross, has agreed to pay $9.2 million to settle allegations that it misled consumers regarding the collagen content in its products. The settlement addresses claims that the company’s packaging falsely advertised the presence of collagen, a protein known for its benefits in skincare, including moisture enhancement and elasticity.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a payment from the settlement, consumers must meet the following criteria:
Purchase Requirements: Consumers must have bought select C+Collagen products from Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare. Eligible products include:

- C+Collagen Deep Cream
- C+Collagen Serum
- C+Collagen Mist
- C+Collagen Eye Cream
- C+Collagen Mask
Purchase Period: The C+Collagen products must have been purchased between March 10, 2016, and June 28, 2024.
Payment Details
Class members can receive $50 for each eligible C+Collagen product purchased. The payment amount varies based on proof of purchase:
- Without Proof of Purchase: Up to $100 for claiming two products.
- With Proof of Purchase: Up to $500 for claiming up to ten products. Valid proof includes receipts, order confirmations, and other documentation.
Payments may be adjusted based on the total number of claims filed, with increases capped at $100 per product.
Claim Submission
To receive payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by September 27, 2024. Those wishing to exclude themselves from or object to the settlement must also do so by this date. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for October 31, 2024.
Additional Settlement Opportunities
In addition to this skincare settlement, Americans may also be eligible for up to $5,000 from a $4.76 million insurance data breach settlement and $8,500 payments from an $825,000 data breach settlement.
