“32-Year-Old Woman Sentenced for Killing Cleveland State University Professor”

Terreionna Paschal, a 32-year-old woman, has been sentenced to 23 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of Cleveland State University professor Todd Morgan in his Hudson home in 2023. During a hearing in Akron, Ohio, on September 19, the judge addressed the victim’s family, acknowledging the irreparable harm caused by the crime and the benefits of avoiding a trial.

“There’s nothing that the court can do to make this better, to make this okay, to make this any easier,” the judge stated. “I appreciate Miss Paschal for taking responsibility for this and making it so that the family does not have to go through any additional trauma.”

In her remarks, Paschal expressed her remorse, saying, “To his family, I’m very sorry and hope that one day you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.”

Todd Morgan was discovered dead on April 19, 2023, after authorities conducted a welfare check at his home. Officers reported multiple gunshot wounds to his head and torso. Computer records revealed that Paschal had been active on dating sites and had searched for Morgan’s profile and images of his house shortly before their meeting.

“They mutually agreed to meet, and he let her into the house, with no reason to suspect anything would go wrong,” said Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich.

Paschal was arrested soon after the incident and indicted by a Summit County grand jury on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, tampering with evidence, and robbery.

During the sentencing hearing, several of Morgan’s family members delivered emotional victim impact statements. His mother spoke for over ten minutes, emphasizing her son’s commitment to education and his impact on others. She addressed Paschal directly, saying, “I would like to say I hope you burn in hell, but I can’t because I’m a Christian. I serve a God of love and a God of justice.”

She urged Paschal to find repentance, stating, “Todd deserves to know what really happened that day. If you ever find the courage to tell the truth, I would like to hear it from you.”

In her closing remarks, she offered Paschal words of hope, saying, “May God help you, Miss Paschal. I hope, in all of those dark moments where you’ll be sitting, that you will find and seek him.”
