NOT HAPPY: ‘What about the warranties?’ cry drivers after Harley-Davidson dealership closes – its nearest location is an hour away

A MOTORBIKE owner is expressing concern after his local Harley-Davidson dealership closed three years before the end of his warranty. The rider took to Facebook to voice frustration over the store’s closure and the inconvenience of needing to travel long distances for scheduled maintenance.

Dealership Closure Details

The bike owner recently purchased a motorcycle from Miracle City Harley-Davidson in Titusville, Florida. The dealership closed its doors on September 1, as reported by Florida Today. Miracle City Harley-Davidson had been in operation for five years.

In a social media statement after the closure, the dealership thanked the Titusville community and local riders for their support. Despite the closure, the bike owner is worried about the remaining three years of warranty on his motorcycle.

Warranty Concerns

The Facebook user lamented, “[I] should have gone to a reputable dealer of long standing.” With two other Harley-Davidson dealerships in Brevard County, Florida, being at least an hour away from the now-closed store, the motorbike owner is facing significant travel challenges.

Harley-Davidson offers a one-year parts and accessory warranty on its bikes, along with an additional two years of custom coverage. If a customer needs to use the warranty, Harley-Davidson requests a two-week period to make repairs. The company also provides Extended Service Plans (ESPs) that cover specific parts but require bikes to be taken to certified Harley-Davidson repair shops.

The U.S. Sun reached out to Harley-Davidson and a brand representative for comment but received no immediate response.

Another Dealership Shuts Down Amidst Controversy

In related news, a flagship Harley-Davidson dealership in San Francisco also closed earlier this year after 110 years of operation. The store’s closure followed alleged internal conflicts between new management and employees.

Carlos Martinez, a salesperson with 22 years at the dealership, described the situation as chaotic. A long-time mechanic claimed the store was “run into the ground” under the new management that took over in 2018.
