BIG UPDATE: SSI beneficiaries will get 2 payments in November, Social Security explains why
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are managed by Social Security and are federally funded. This assistance is available to low-income Americans who are disabled, blind, or at least 65 years old. For November 2024, Social Security has scheduled two SSI payments for eligible beneficiaries.
Two SSI Payments Scheduled for November
Typically, SSI recipients receive 12 payments annually, equating to one payment per month. However, if the first day of the month falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the payment must be issued on the preceding business day, which can lead to two payments being made in one month.
For November 2024, this scheduling means there will be two SSI payments:
- November 1: The payment for November.
- November 29: The payment for December.
There will be no extra payments or bonuses; the payments are simply adjusted to ensure recipients receive their funds on time.
Maximum SSI Payment Amounts
For November, the maximum SSI payment amounts are:
- Individuals: Up to $943.
- Married Couples: Up to $1,415.
- Essential Persons: Up to $472.
Payment Dates Overview
- November 1: SSI payment for November.
- November 29: SSI payment for December.
