Why Social Security Payments Are Not Issued on Thanksgiving Day
According to Vibes.okdiario The Social Security Administration (SSA) will not issue monthly payments on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, due to the Federal Holiday. As a result, Social Security beneficiaries will receive their checks or direct deposits on the preceding business day.
Why No Social Security Payments on Thanksgiving Day?
There are two main reasons why Social Security does not issue payments on Thanksgiving:
- Federal Holiday: Thanksgiving is a recognized Federal Holiday, and SSA does not process payments on these days.
- Payment Schedule: SSA delivers the last three monthly payments of November on Wednesdays, ensuring that recipients receive their money on time.

- November 13: Birthdays from the 1st to the 10th
- November 20: Birthdays from the 11th to the 20th
- November 27: Birthdays from the 21st to the 31st
Payments After Thanksgiving
