Police Arrest 4 in South Euclid McDonald’s Riot Case

Four juveniles were arrested, and many others may face charges for allegedly participating in a disturbance at a South Euclid McDonald’s on Mayfield Road, which police described as a “riot.”

According to a police report and bodycam footage obtained by FOX 8, the incident led the McDonald’s location to temporarily close its dining room each day from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Officers responded to the restaurant around 5:40 p.m. on October 22, where they found about 40 juveniles either inside or running from the scene. Two girls sustained minor injuries and were identified as victims, while four others were detained.

Thanks to a quick investigation, officers were able to identify everyone believed to be involved, with help from the community. Police plan to submit the case to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for possible formal charges. Officer Jason Di Lillo emphasized the importance of accountability, saying, “There’s accountability in our community, there’s accountability in our schools. If you participate in such activity, you’re likely to be named in the report, and charges could follow.”

Di Lillo, who has served as a police officer for 18 years and attended the local schools, noted that he had “never seen anything like this” in South Euclid. He hopes the swift response will deter future incidents and allow the McDonald’s dining room to fully reopen. “We want all members of our community to enjoy our local businesses safely,” he said.

FOX 8 reached out to McDonald’s corporate office for a statement, but they had not responded at the time of the report.
