According to The Sun , A Powerball player in Arizona has won $50,000 but has yet to claim their prize, and time is running out. The ticket, purchased at Sons Food Store in northern Phoenix for the November 2 drawing, matched four out of five white balls and the red Powerball, hitting a significant win. The winning numbers were 10, 45, 48, 58, 61, with the red Powerball being 2.
The odds of hitting this particular combination are 1 in more than 900,000. The Arizona Lottery is urging the winner to come forward and claim their prize, as they have 180 days from the drawing date to do so. The deadline to claim the $50,000 prize is May 1, 2025. If the ticket remains unclaimed after that date, the funds will be forfeited and redirected to the state’s general fund for public programs.

To claim the prize, the winner must sign the back of the ticket and either mail a completed claim form to the Arizona Lottery or visit one of its offices in person. This is the standard process for wins over $600. After verification, the winner will need to choose between a lump sum payment or annuity payments over time.
If the winner opts for the lump sum, they will face tax deductions. The federal government taxes lottery winnings above $5,000 at a rate of 24%, and Arizona’s state tax rate on winnings is 4.8%. This means the $50,000 prize would be reduced by around $14,400, leaving the winner with approximately $35,600 after taxes.
Meanwhile, other unclaimed lottery prizes are still outstanding. A player in Missouri has not yet claimed a $1 million Mega Millions win from October, and Kansas Lottery officials are searching for a winner of a $100,000 prize.
