One Dead After Woman Allegedly Fires Shot at Man Who Asked to Be Shot
A man has died after being shot in the groin by a 77-year-old woman in Cincinnati on Sunday evening.
According to a press release from the Cincinnati Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of East Tower Drive around 7:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found 58-year-old Arthur Osborne suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of the Cincinnati Fire Department, Osborne was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police arrested Kathleen Geiger, who has been charged with reckless homicide. Reports from local news outlets, including WKRC, WLWT, and the Cincinnati Enquirer, indicate that Osborne was shot in the pelvic area.
In an affidavit cited by WLWT, Geiger allegedly stated that she and Osborne were “engaged in harmless banter” when Osborne jokingly asked her to shoot him. Geiger reportedly believed the gun was unloaded at the time of the incident.
