Shop Smart: Stop & Shop Introduces New Savings Stations for Customers

According to The Sun, Stop & Shop has launched a new initiative to help customers save more money as part of its store remodeling plans. The popular grocery chain has introduced digital “Savings Stations,” designed to make grocery shopping more affordable and convenient.

These in-store kiosks enable shoppers to redeem digital coupons easily through the GO Rewards loyalty program. Customers can use the Savings Stations by scanning their GO Rewards loyalty card or entering their phone number, which instantly activates all digital coupons associated with their account.

The Savings Station also tailors offers to customers by automatically activating personal deals based on their purchasing history, allowing for a more customized shopping experience. Stop & Shop is the first grocery retailer in Rhode Island to make digital coupons readily accessible to all customers, and plans are underway to roll out these kiosks brand-wide by early next year.

Roger Wheeler, President of Stop & Shop, stated, “Today, we are announcing a significant investment in our Rhode Island Stop & Shop stores that will deliver a better shopping experience and bring more value to our local customers.” He emphasized that the company has been listening to customer feedback and is committed to helping families purchase groceries at a lower cost across its Rhode Island locations.

In addition to the Savings Stations, Stop & Shop recently announced the removal of a 10-cent surcharge for paper bags. Starting in October, customers at the 25 Stop & Shop stores in Rhode Island will no longer be charged for paper bags, as part of the retailer’s initiative to make groceries more affordable.

Alongside the fee removal, Stop & Shop is also lowering prices on thousands of national and private brand items. Shoppers can expect price reductions on over 3,500 products throughout nearly every department, totaling approximately 87,500 price drops. Discounted items will feature yellow tags indicating the price reductions compared to the original listings. Some examples of items seeing price drops include Boneless Chicken Breast Value Pack, Hass Avocados, Kraft Shredded Cheese, and Yoplait Yogurts, with discounts ranging from 11% to as high as 30%.

Additionally, Stop & Shop is introducing three more benefits for Rhode Island shoppers: weekly sales, deal lock, and meal deals. The deal lock program will secure sale prices for several weeks, allowing customers to take full advantage of discounts. Meal deals will provide families of four with a main protein-based dish at a discount, accompanied by complimentary items to complete the meal.

With over 350 locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island, Stop & Shop continues to enhance the shopping experience for its customers, aiming to provide both savings and convenience.
