According to The Sun, Some Americans may soon receive money from a settlement related to false advertising claims. Individuals who qualify for direct payments must have purchased a popular furniture product through Saatva, an online luxury mattress retailer.
Background on the Settlement
This opportunity arises after a class action lawsuit against Saatva, in which plaintiffs alleged that the company misrepresented sales and discounts on mattresses on its website. Customers believed they were paying less for products than they actually were, as outlined on a dedicated website for the case. The alleged false advertising was said to violate state laws in California and Oregon.
Although Saatva did not admit any wrongdoing, the company agreed to a settlement of $11.5 million to resolve the claims and avoid further legal expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for cash from the settlement, shoppers must meet three key criteria:
- Purchase History: They must have bought one or more mattresses on Saatva’s website.
- Transaction Timeline: Purchases must have occurred between May 23, 2020, and May 23, 2024, for California residents. For Oregon residents, qualifying purchases are limited to those made between May 23, 2023, and May 23, 2024.
- Residency: Claimants must have been residents of California or Oregon at the time of purchase.
Notably, no proof of purchase is required, as eligible customers should have already been notified via mail or email.

Filing a Claim
Notices sent by mail or email will include a Confirmation Code and Notice ID. This information can be used to file a claim on the website established for the Saatva settlement.
Important Deadline: Valid claim forms must be submitted by October 27, 2024.
Claimants should also be aware of other important dates, including the final date for exclusion or objection, which is September 27, just days away. A final approval hearing for the case is scheduled for November 13, 2024.
Payment Information
Class members are expected to receive approximately $115 each from the settlement. Alternatively, they can choose to receive the same amount in the form of a store credit voucher for use on Saatva’s website.
Additional Settlements to Watch
Americans should remain alert for other settlements with approaching deadlines. Some individuals may qualify for a check from a $152.2 million price-fixing settlement if they file a claim by December. Others could receive a one-time distribution from a $115 million privacy settlement if they act by October.
