Gable Dershem finished first in the men’s race, and Jasmine Cullins finished first in the women’s race. Overall, both teams earned a second place finish in the Two Rivers 3A Conference.

In addition to the athletic success of this year’s Cross Country team, some students have found that Cross Country has helped them adjust to life in a new school.

“Cross country has helped me adjust after moving from India by letting me meet new people. Running is one of my favorite things so I really love cross country,” said Juan Vera, Senior runner for the Rams.

“Switching schools I was kind of scared because I was going from 200 students to 1700. But everyone was so nice and my closest friends at Cleveland are on the cross country team,” said Marika Samuelsson, Senior.

The Cross Country team will look to build on this year’s success next year.
