Cleveland Proud Day is a day where schools in the community come together and show their talent. Cleveland Proud Day will take place on November 3, 2018, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Cleveland High School, and admission is free, but attendees will have to purchase tickets to participate in games and activities. Wristbands will also be sold for $20, which will get attendees in to all the games and activities that take tickets. There will also be several free activities.
T-shirts will be sold as well for $10 each in adult and child sizes. Many schools’ choruses and high school and middle school bands will perform. Also, the cheer teams, ROTC cadets, step team, and other student organizations from Cleveland High will perform. Clubs will engage and make connections with the community, and artwork will be displayed.
“We’re also hoping to better relationships among our students and the students we have coming our way as well as their families. This is really about a day of unity in the community and celebrating all being part of the same Cleveland family,” said Mrs. Melissa Pearce, head of the Cleveland Proud Day event.
There will be food for sale on the football field including snacks, Pelicans Sno Balls, biscuits, hot dogs and more. There will also be bouncy houses for the kids’ games and information booths for the newly formed Cleveland High School Parent Teacher Organization, athletic and band booster clubs and local businesses.
Mrs. Pearce said, “We’re hoping for a lovely day with a great turn out. We are looking forward to seeing all the great talents all the students have to show us.”
