30-Year-Old Gas Station to Close in Circleville – Only Days Left to Visit!
According to The Sun , A United Dairy Farmers gas station in Circleville, Ohio, is closing after 30 years of service, leaving customers with just two days left to visit. The station, which has been a staple of the community since the early 1990s, will close its doors soon. The mayor of Circleville confirmed that no proposals have been made to develop the site, and the property has yet to be sold, according to the Pickaway County auditor’s office. Employees have encouraged locals to stop by for one final visit before the closure.
This closure comes as part of a larger trend in the gas station industry. In March, Shell announced plans to close 1,000 gas-focused locations, with 500 stores set to shut down in 2024 and the remaining 500 in 2025. Shell’s move is part of a broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging network, responding to the growing demand for EV infrastructure.

The U.S. electric vehicle market has seen significant growth in 2024, with companies like Hyundai, Ford, Lucid, and Rivian setting new sales records. However, despite the rise in EV popularity, Tesla has missed its sales targets in both quarters of 2024. In response to the shift in consumer demand, automakers like Ford, GM, Volkswagen, and Volvo have scaled back their initial push for fully electric vehicle production, opting to focus on hybrid models to cater to consumers seeking fuel efficiency without fully committing to electric vehicles.
