Daisy Jones and the Six is a TV show based on a book by the same name and available on Amazon’s streaming service. ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ was written fairly recently to already have an available tv show adaptation, the book having been published in March of 2019 by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The Tv show is currently rated 4 out of 5 on Common Sense Media.

Daisy Jones and the Six centers around Daisy Jones and a band she sang with in her youth. The show follows Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne as they partner in leading a rock band in the 70s. Amazon’s ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ showcases the stress of leading a band, coupled with each member’s lifestyle decisions.

Daisy’s fun, confident, and I-do-what-I-want attitude, coupled with Billy’s need to stick to rigid plans first creates a perfect balance to the band and its music, but later causes friction and conflict within the band. As each member struggles to navigate a rise to fame and being one of the most well known bands of the time, each band member’s choices clash with each other’s and they struggle to keep themselves and the band they’ve formed together.

Years later, after the band’s fallout, the member reflects on their own choices and their opinions of each others’ decisions in a series of interviews. Matching up each person’s perspective of the past’s events will give both themselves and the audience clarity of what truly happened.
