I went around the classroom and asked some of my classmates what they considered the best Halloween movie. With the votes in order, the best Halloween movies are “Hocus Pocus,” “Scream,” “Halloweentown,” “Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Hubie Halloween,” and “Halloween.”
The movie that was said to be the best is a “1993 American fantasy comedy film that follows a villainous comedic trio of witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy (Omri Katz) in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.” It’s a Disney movie that came out July 16, 1993. It has a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5. In fact, the new “Hocus Pocus 2” just came out September 30, 2022.
The second movie with the most votes is “Scream.” “Scream” is about “A year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a new killer, who targets the girl and her friends by using horror films as part of a deadly game. A year after her mother’s death, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her friends started experiencing some strange phone calls.” It has 4.5 out of 5 stars. There are five different “Scream” movies. This is the first movie.
Then the third movie with the most votes is “Halloweentown,” a movie about “On her 13th birthday, Marnie learns she’s a witch, discovers a secret portal, and is transported to Halloweentown — a magical place where ghosts and ghouls, witches and werewolves live apart from the human world. But she soon finds herself battling wicked warlocks, evil curses, and endless surprises.” Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars.
These were the top three most voted favorite movies according to my classmates.
