A Hurricane Called Ian Heads Towards Florida and Levels Destruction in its Path.

A hurricane with the name of Ian is roaring and raising its way towards Florida. Cuba was already affected by it. According to CNN, “It created a landfall just south of La Colomain the Pinar del Rio Province of Cuba this Tuesday at 4:30 in the morning.”

Florida residents are bracing for impact, and if the hurricane path is true, Tampa will be hit by its first direct hit by a hurricane since 1921. NBC News says, “There are mandatory evacuation orders in place for parts of Charlotte County, Levy County, Manatee County, Pasco County, Pinellas County and Sarasota County. Along with mobile homes and  homes near rivers and the shore.”

This storm has only gotten worse. Winds have gotten faster and now Orlandosentinel.com says, “Ian is almost a category 5 with 155 mph winds.”

This is a situation that is not ideal for people. Storms with wind speeds this high can cause mass destruction to anything in its path. If you happen to be in the middle of a hurricane, you should stay inside away from all windows, glass doors and skylights. This is because any debris that is being tossed around can shatter and break through windows, sending glass shards everywhere.

Hopefully, the storm passes soon, but for now try your best to stay safe during this time and follow the tips to help.
