Christmas time is nearing, and people are very excited to start the holiday season this year. Since a lot of people celebrate this holiday in North Carolina, homes and businesses are decorated with lights, trees, and bows all over the country. Teachers have decorated classrooms and hallways to look their best during the holidays.

So are people who decorate early for Christmas friendly or happier? 

The Today show reported that people who decorate early for the holidays are happier because their moods are lifted when they get into the excitement of the holidays.

Here at Cleveland High School, I asked a few students their opinion on this question. Here are their responses.  

Meyah Watson, 12  

“I don’t think they are happy, just eager” 

McKinley Strickland, 11

“I think people who decorate for Christmas earlier are happier, and they want to spread that joy to people who aren’t as happy. So then they decorate sooner to get the happiness out.”

Emma Presti, 12 

“I definitely think that they are happier because Christmas is a happy time” 

I think that people who decorate early have many reasons as to why they decorate early. Some people decorate early to get it over with, and so they don’t have to deal with it later. Other people who decorate may just be happy and feel like they should start as soon as it’s right to. I personally like the decorations because it puts me in a good mood and brings the Christmas feeling.
