On Tuesday, October 19, five of our school’s women golfers competed in the 2021 NCHSAA Women’s Regional 4A East golf tournament. Marissa Colbert, a junior, Crystal Robertson, a senior, Peyton DeSimone, a junior, Sage Farmer, a junior, and Jamie Adams, also a junior, were the five athletes that qualified for the tournament with intentions to progress to the State Championship.
The senior on the team, Crystal Robertson, was the only individual from the team to advance to the State Championship next week with a score of 84. Marissa Colbert finished with a score of 124, Jamie Adams finished with a 97, Sage Farmer finished with a 104, and Peyton DeSimone finished with a 103. Cleveland placed fifth overall out of the 13 total schools in the event. Crystal Robertson will head to the State tournament which takes place next week. She has qualified for the State Tournament all four years of her high school career and we wish her the best of luck as it is her last time competing.
Throughout the 2021-2022 season, Cleveland High Schools Women’s golf finished second in the conference, placing behind Corinth High School. All five women were all-conference players, which is something no other school can say. Overall, this year has been a great year for the women’s golf team, and there is a bright future ahead for next season.
