My top pick for recent releases would be POWER UP by AC/DC. I wasn’t quite sure about this album when I first heard about it, but after hearing the first song to be released, “Shot in the Dark,” I figured it would be a good one. AC/DC does well with carrying the same sound they have had for decades, but also mix in characteristics of current rock songs. It has been long awaited that they release new music and I think this album was the perfect way to do so.

My top pick for upcoming music would be the Plastic Hearts album by Miley Cyrus that releases the day after Thanksgiving. After “Midnight Sky” and Miley’s cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” I’m interested to see how much of the new album is rock influenced. Fans have been wanting a rock album because her covers of rock songs, such as “Nothing Else Matters” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” are up to the mark. Miley Cyrus has come a long way from Hannah Montana and “Party in the USA”.
